In a small Tanzanian climate stricken poor village called Ugano, two babies were born into the world — twins. But only one would survive. Dr. Noely Mapunda lived, while his twin brother lost the fight against malnutrition before his first words. That moment of pain has followed him ever since — not as a burden, but as a fire. He became a doctor not to wear a white coat, but to reach those who are never reached. From healing under mango trees during community health festivals to performing surgeries on refugee children in Congo, Dr. Mapunda has never stopped giving what he once prayed someone would have given his brother — a second chance. He believes healthcare should be as close as the village well, not a distant promise only for the rich. Today, he serves the forgotten  with a steady hand and a deeply African heart, who has crossed borders with Doctors Without Borders, performed life-saving surgeries on displaced children, and founded Healing festivals which has birthed NoNo an initiative nourishing critical first 1000 days of life to end malnutrition among children under 5. Dr Mapunda believes in healthcare without walls with no divide between hospital and home, only bridges built from empathy and action.
